2026 Polk County Dog Commissioner Election

The Polk County Dog Commissioner Election is your chance to celebrate the dogs who make our community so special. Nominate your pup to run for office and give them the opportunity to represent Polk County as Dog Commissioner!

Nominations are $25 and must be submitted by October 10. Once nominations close, online voting will begin! Each vote will be $1.

Each nominee, with a little help from their humans, is encouraged to hit the campaign trail and earn those votes! Visit local businesses, meet county officials, share campaign posts on social media, and get creative with your campaign.

The winner will lead the Mutt Strutt Parade on October 24, be spotlighted in the community, and hold the honorary title of Polk County Dog Commissioner through Fall 2027.
